Welcome to our first grade website! You (or your parents!) may be eager to learn a little bit about me, so here it goes...
This is my 3rd year teaching at PSS. Prior to coming to Laconia, I worked in Early Childhood Education for a decade as a preschool teacher. I have a Master's in Elementary Education from UNH, and a B.S. in Kinesiology: Sport Studies as well. I have always had a passion for teaching, coaching and athletics, and I like to incorporate my knowledge of all three into the classroom.
When I am not at school, you are most likely to find me working out at the gym, playing soccer, or off on an adventure with friends. I recently began hiking the 4000 footers in NH, and currently have summited 8 peaks. While terrified of heights, I have been rappelling down cliffs and waterfalls for the past few years, with 140 ft. Arethusa Falls currently the highest I have completed. I am not a fan of running but love competing in Obstacle Course Races like the Tough Mudder, where there is a strong emphasis on teamwork. I have also recently enjoyed camping, kayaking, and going to the beach with friends. As you can probably guess, summer is my favorite season!
I believe it is important to be a role model for my students and I enjoy sharing my experiences outside of school with them. I want them to know that even when things are hard, if you make a goal, work hard and put your mind to it, you can accomplish almost anything!
Below you will find some pictures of what I have been up to lately:
